Flint Wing

Wingleader: T’rev, rider of bronze Mecaith
Wingseconds: Aleine and brown Havroth, G’fry and blue Boulounth

Currently the Weyrleader’s wing, Flint is composed of a roughly even number of former Telgari from Telgar’s Thunderbolt wing and veteran Fortians. Over the past three turns since T’rev and the former Thunderbolt wing members arrived at Fort, much work has gone into forging a single unit out of the multi-faceted wing. Most of the original Fort riders tend to be older and a bit more conservative in approach, while many of the younger riders tend to be more gung-ho.

Flint Wing drills 4 days out of 7, on the first 4 days of the week. One day out of the seven, Flint focuses on traditional Threadfighting tactics including flaming ropes. Two days out of the seven are devoted to stunt flying and weyrgame practice. One day out of the seven is devoted to Search & Rescue practice.

For three days of the week, there are no drills, but sweeps shifts, transport duty and message duty may be assigned. Every wingrider gets 1.5 days off. A half-day on day 3 of the week and a whole day off on day 6 of the week. Additional informal time off occurs between sweeps shifts and drills. Typically, Flint riders have no evening duties unless one is assigned Star Stones watch or special errands.

The 4th day of the week usually features a poker night in the Glass Fountain for all members of Flint who’d like to play with each other. Frequent winners of the wing’s poker night include wingleader T’rev and former wingsecond Aleine, who often joins the game, as well as bluerider F’sen.
