Gossip never takes long to find its way through the population of Fort – particularly when the act worth gossiping about occurred in the Bowl in the middle of the afternoon. Day 2, Month 10, Hematite returned from sweeps at noon, and not long after that Weyrleader N’muir and his wingmate, brownrider E’dre, got themselves into a very heated argument that ended up with them both in the infirmary. As for their injuries, some say E’dre beat the snot out of the bronzerider, and some others say E’dre’s dead.

It was mid-morning on the 27th day of month 9 when a routine examination in the infirmary turned into something far different and quite unexpected. Lygar, one of the Weyr’s groundskeepers, became angry and violent, actually striking the Healer tending him, Gwenell, and then attacking brownrider E’dre when he stepped in to help the apprentice. E’dre subdued him and notified Hattie of the capture, Lygar eventually being carted unconscious from the infirmary to be incarcerated in the very same room where Bea was once kept. While no one’s entirely sure just what his deal is, during the altercation it was revealed before several witness that he was the one responsible for alerting Boll to Avaryk’s presence at the masquerade. Some are saying that it was part of a larger, if confused, plan to seek revenge against everyone connected with Bea’s death.
The men among the residents who know Lygar know him as a usually quiet drunken malcontent who is often shirking his duties, opinionated but unconfrontational, making his blow-up in the infirmary quite puzzling. Some of the women tell a quite different story of his temper and tendency toward violence, however.
The questions now being: just how closely involved with Boll was he, and has he been involved in anything else harmful toward the Weyr that has yet to come to light?

Fort Weyr is currently in a precarious situation with Southern Boll Hold. The latest rumors put the relationship between the two as chilly at best, and it’s yet to be seen how long-lasting this stand off might be. Could it be possible that Southern Boll will break Tradition and refuse to tithe? The answer may not come until the tithe train, due in under a month, arrives…
Looking to join Fort, and after a concept that ties into our current Boll plot? Some of the concepts that may work well:
* Fosterlings (Blooded or otherwise) from South Boll Hold, Fort Sea Hold, or surrounding areas.
* Potential Search applications from South Boll Hold, Fort Sea Hold, or surrounding areas, that may be willing to ‘sneak out’ against the wishes of their parents / the Hold to get to the Weyr and stand for a dragon.
* Harper spies/apprentices planted in Fort Weyr, South Boll Hold, or Fort Sea Hold with an eye to keeping an eye on the diplomatic situation, and potentially affecting/diffusing the situation.
If you have any questions or want some more information about these concepts, feel free to page Fort Weyr’s staff, or send a +mail to ftwadmin.

Information about Search can be found here, with our application form located here. Please be aware that there is only /one/ application to fill in and that we do not ask for further dragon preferences unless we feel we need more information to write a dragon.
IC Search will be opening on the 15th of January. If you have any questions about Search, please don’t hesitate to send a +mail to ftwadmin and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

It’s been nearly two Turns since the youngest Fort queen, Isyath, was shelled. While many expected her to take after her dam and rise with frequency, the young queen has ruined those betting on an early rising. It’s no surprise that many have been watching Isyath keenly over the last few months, and those that are watching closely may well start to suspect the young gold will rise soon… if her rider’s recent behavior is anything to judge by.
OOC: Isyath will be rising her her maiden flight on Friday, 13th of January at 6pm EST / 3pm PST. All are welcome to attend. This flight is NOT predetermined. (But it is being held on Friday the 13th, so you’re taking your chances!) Fort’s OOC search will open on Sunday, 8th of January 2012. Keep an eye on the bboard for further details!

It was supposed to be a celebration, wasn’t it? All anyone can really say is that it didn’t turn out as cheery and positive as Boll’s Lord intended. Something about a criminal being apprehended and Lord Jivrain demanding all Fortians leave his land and Fort’s Weyrwoman suggesting that she’d withdraw the Weyr’s protection in response. Whatever it was that went on, the Fortians /did/ leave and the Gather continued without them. Surely it has to be the most damaging incident involving Southern Boll Hold and Fort Weyr for decades, following a steady breakdown in communications since the death of Lord Visrain.

A celebration Gather is being held for Lord Jivrain in light of his official confirmation as Lord Holder of Southern Boll. This invitation has been extended to Fort Weyr – though some rumors suggest this was done rather reluctantly on his part, given the recent breakdown in relations with the Weyr.
OOC: All are welcome to attend and celebrate! It will be a Masquerade ball, so feel free to come dressed up complete with mask and suave outfit! This will be held this Friday 30th, starting from 4:30pm EST at Southern Boll Hold, Boll Area (@tel #887)

Before light had touched the Weyr on day 25 of month 7, Sedark and blue Tsaheyluth departed Between with a cargo comprising of a bound and surprisingly silent Bea. More than one person has remarked that they saw the bluerider visit the former rider a number of times, leading some to suggest that she might have formed some kind of relationship with the woman before carrying out her sentence. Did she see it as an act of mercy or justice for her clutchsister, Yamilet?
It should surely have been the work of moments, but the pair did not return to Fort until well after midday and have so far told no-one where they went or what they did during those hours.
Is Bea actually gone? Or did Sedark take pity on her and spare her life? If she’s alive, where is she now? The majority insist that she must be dead, but that hasn’t stopped others from loudly declaring that someone different should have been issued the task, someone potentially more objective or with more experience.

Day 4 of month 7, junior weyrwoman Brin cleared out her weyr and departed with her gold Kyourith for a return to Southern Weyr, seemingly out of the blue. With the pair having only spent a turn and a half at Fort, the thought most prevalent is that her transfer was only temporary, until Elaruth was returned to health and Isyath grown to maturity. However, there are murmurings of the reason actually being the sentence handed out to Bea and the handling of the dragonless rider, thought not to sit well with the eldest of Fort’s weyrwomen.

Word has it that Bea’s fate has finally been decided, said to be ‘the kindest thing to do’, ‘the quick, out of sight way to deal with her’ and ‘not punishment enough’ by turn. Most say that she’ll be taken Between, but who will it be that gets saddled with the job? Shouldn’t the Weyrleader do it? Should one of Isaphe or Yamilet’s clutchmates get the ‘honour’ as a twisted form of vengeance? Is she actually going to be taken Between at all, given that she’s been allowed to live this long already?
