While the hatching might have gone mostly successfully, the post hatching feast went less so; during the celebrations, Lord Visrain, the elderly Lord Holder of Boll, appeared to suffer a heart attack and passed away. While the hatching feast was moved to the solarium for the rest of the evening, it is known that Jivrain, the eldest son, demanded transport back to the Hold immediately… presumably to claim Holdership. However, news from Southern Boll has been rather scarce since, and it’s not known what effect Jivrain taking Hold will have on the relationship with the Weyr, given it’s known Jivrain is far less amicable in his thoughts of the Weyr than his late father was.

With Fort’s latest clutch hatched, we’re opening up insta-weyrling spots for all colours except gold. There were nine eggs hatched and no particular Impressions have been specified, leaving each one free to be defined by players with an interest in creating an insta-weyrling.
If interested in applying for an insta-weyrling, please view and complete the application form here.
We also have a variety of character concepts that we’d love to see at Fort, which can be viewed here.

Mid-afternoon on day 26 of month 1, nine of Elaruth and Bijedth’s clutch of ten eggs hatched and each dragonet found their partner with relatively few mishaps and little bloodshed. The smallest egg of the clutch, which many had assumed would not hatch, kept Candidates and spectators waiting a while, its occasional shivers taken for signs of life, though it eventually stilled and it has been assumed that the poor dragonet perished in the shell. As is expected in such an event, the Weyrleader and Bijedth shortly took the unhatched egg Between.

The dragonhealers are estimating that it won’t be more than a sevenday before Elaruth and Bijedth’s clutch hatches. And you know that that means… hatching feast! (And weyrlings.) While the hatching itself will be off camera, the post hatching feast that people are normally too tired to attend will be held on camera. There will be food, drinks, dancing… and all the things that Weyrfolk do best to celebrate the arrival of new dragonriders.
This event will begin on Thursday, 27th October at 7:00pm EST. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

It seems that most of the Weyr has already written-off one of Elaruth and Bijedth’s eggs, leaving nine to do the usual betting about. The disregarded egg is the smallest of the clutch, pale and has spent most of its time so far buried deeper in the sand than the others. If it /does/ hatch… Well, people are suggesting that it would be kinder if it didn’t. Given that Elaruth has not paid any particular attention to one egg over the others, nobody has (yet) been foolish enough to place marks on there being a gold.

It’s been a little over three months since the Weyrleader put his own wing on an alcohol ban. Now it seems he’s lifted that ban for all his wingriders – but not himself. Something is most definitely up with this guy. But for Hematite, most riders are preoccupied with celebrating the return of their beverage freedom.

For eleven of Fort’s riders, the new turn is certainly not a happy one. These eleven have been locked down to solitary confinement in their weyrs for the foreseeable future, permitted to the living cavern for the evening meal only. Their dragons are free to roam the skies, but they are not allowed to accompany them, according to rumour. How long is this for? What did they do? Nobody seems to know.
One of the dozen remains free to go where he wishes and do as he pleases. The formerly grounded Weyrleader doesn’t seem to be sharing the punishment for whatever it is that the group have done. Did he earn his freedom by informing on them? Or is it his knot that has spared him? Whatever the case may be, he might not be so popular with certain riders anymore.
While some riders are being punished, others have been selected for ‘high priority’ duties that take them away from the Weyr for long stretches at a time. Apparently, they are refusing to share what they’re doing with their wingmates.

By breakfast time of day 15 of month 13, a good number of the Weyr’s dragon population had been alerted to the fact that there were now ten eggs sitting on the hatching sands, all neatly arranged and tucked under their dam’s wing. The news came not from Elaruth herself, but from Bijedth, who had spent the early hours of the morning providing something of a boastful, cheerful running commentary for anyone who would listen. It’s a larger clutch than the Senior’s last, but will all the eggs prove to be viable?
If any bad blood remains between the Weyrleaders, it seems to have been temporarily put aside. At least for as long as it took for the two to be seen at breakfast together. Maybe they were just too tired to ignore each other.

Nearly a full sevenday after Elaruth imposed a lockdown on all Fortian dragons, most are now permitted to leave the Weyr again. It remains to be seen what reaction the region’s holders will have to having been without dragonrider assistance with anything at all, though most weyrfolk are assuming that it won’t have done Fort any favours. If there’s been any communication about it thus far, it’s been kept incredibly quiet. Perhaps they’ll blame the new Weyrleader?
At least a dozen riders remain grounded, though most are no longer confined to quarters. Isaphe and Nyvenirth continue to be kept in the infirmaries, with rumours of the former’s sedation now doing the rounds. Have these riders committed a crime? Do they know something they shouldn’t? Do the Weyrleaders need to shut them up? And what of the Weyrleader himself, among the dozen?
Those flying sweeps will surely be interrogated by any holder to flag them down.

Late afternoon of day 10, month 12, the order went out from Elaruth that no dragon was permitted to leave Fort unless specifically directed to by herself, Isyath or Kyourith. It remains unclear just what brought this command about, but the Weyrwoman and a handful of other riders had left the Weyr not long before the Senior made her order known. Also absent were the Weyrleader, N’muir, and his bronze Bijedth.
Shortly after, a very pale and ill-looking green was escorted back to Fort and she and her rider confined to the infirmary and dragon infirmary respectively. Word soon filtered out that the green was Nyvenirth and her rider Isaphe, of Obsidian Wing. How the green got into such a state is unknown, but short of another dozen riders have been grounded and confined to quarters.
Including the Weyrleader himself.
