Day In The Life: Wingrider

This outline covers a typical day that a wingrider might live out at Fort Weyr. Individual riders will of course have different things going on in their lives, but this covers many of the basics that are commonplace for the average rider in a wing.

5:00am – 7:00am – Rise, get ready for the day. Dawn sweeps if on the schedule.
7:00am – 9:00am – Breakfast is available in the living cavern.
8:00am – 12:00pm – Wings with morning drills typically occupy this time slot in two hour blocks. Sweeps are also possible, as are transport and message duties.
12:00pm – 1:30pm – Lunch is available in the living cavern.
1:30pm – 6:00pm – Shifts on sweeps, transport or message duty are common. Wings with afternoon drills typically occupy this time slot in two hour blocks.
3:00pm – 6:00pm – Free time is often available during this time block.
6:00pm – 8:00pm – Supper is available in the living cavern.
8:00pm – midnight – Evening sweeps and watchrider shifts are common in this time slot, but otherwise this is typically free time for all riders.
midnight – 5:00am – The only duties typically assigned in this time slot are watchrider shifts either at the Weyr or at an assigned hold.
