Searchriders
Riding search is an easy, fun way to get involved with applicants and candidates during a Search Cycle. Many candidates form a bond with the person whose dragon Searched them and the experience provides a hook into RP throughout candidacy and possibly beyond.
The responsibilities of searchriders include:
- Availability to RP with and search candidates for an hour or two per RP session
- The ability to RP/stay through setting up the candidate in the Candidate Barracks
- Running the +search command to mark the candidate as searched
To join the searchrider team, please send a +mail to ftwadmin to indicate your interest.
Approved searchriders are able to access the following commands on the game to assist with searching candidates:
+sc/list ok
Use this command to see a list of all applicants who are marked search_ok+search
Use this command to actually search the applicant. This command can be run at any time from an OOC perspective. Just make sure you have a puppet still located in a Fort-parented room to run the command if you are outside of the Weyr. If you need to leave suddenly, please run the command regardless of where you are in-scene so that the candidate doesn’t get stranded in scene limbo. The Search scene can always be picked up as a backscene.>sr
This command can be used from any Fort-parented room or if you have a puppet located in any Fort-parented room. The command provides members of the searchriding team with the ability to communicate with each other via private channel. If you have already searched one or more applicants and other searchriders are connected, please extend the courtesy of pinging the others via the channel to indicate your intent to search a connected applicant and provide others with the chance to search first. As a general rule of thumb, please search only one applicant per day, per searchrider and be courteous of each other. Most searchriders would like the opportunity to search at least one applicant. Otherwise, searching should be conducted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
